The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for assisting with property management tasks for a 98-unit project-based Section 8 senior housing building in Deerfield.
Assist with the leasing process from application to move-in to recertification to move-out
Assist with qualifying and selecting tenants for occupancy including using EIV
Maintain and update waiting lists
Assist with compliance for project-based Section 8
Prepare and deliver notices to residents as needed
Assist with tenant issues and link tenants with service agencies and resources as needed
Build relationships with tenants, neighbors, and community groups
Certified Occupancy Specialist preferred and eventually required
Previous experience with government-assisted and subsidized housing programs required
Bright and dynamic individual with hands-on property management experience
Demonstrated ability successfully assisting in the management of an affordable senior building and performing day-to-day property management including operations, maintenance, marketing and leasing, occupancy, and tenant certifications
Flexibility, positive attitude, team orientation and willingness to learn required
Strong verbal, written and customer service communication skills are essential
Computer proficiency (specifically in MS-Word, Excel, and Outlook) is a plus
