The Indianapolis Housing Agency (IHA) is seeking a highly qualified Director of Asset Management to lead and manage the 65 staff that provide asset management services to the 2078 residential units provided through Public Housing, Project-Based Rental Assistance, Project Based Vouchers and Section 42 LIHTC. A profile of some of the major developments and their amenities can be found on the agency website under "IHA Communities". The Director reports directly to the Executive Director. IHA is the largest housing agency in Indiana and serves the affordable housing needs of approximately 11,000 residents. The IHA is in the renewal stage of the organizational life cycle. The recently appointed Executive Director seeks to build a strategic leadership team with accountability to tenants, commissioners, investors and grantors. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead change, develop staff, manage for results and manage relationships with industry stakeholders.
A Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, real estate management or closely related discipline is required. A Master's degree in these same discipline areas in preferred. Candidates are expected to have a minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in low-income housing or leased housing, including a minimum of five years at a supervisory level in public housing, tax-credit housing, apartment management, or local government housing positions. Candidates with exceptional academic or experience backgrounds that compensate for an academic or experience deficiency may still be considered at the discretion of the Executive Director. Compensation for the position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 depending on the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate.
