Property Accountant / Assistant Property Manager

Entrepreneurial commercial real estate development and management company is seeking a Property Accountant/ Assistant Property Manager. College degree required (BA or BS required). Real Estate accounting software experience preferred. Small yet fast paced office provides a great learning environment. Successful applicant will have 2-5 years minimum hands-on work experience. Commercial/Retail real estate experience is required. Need someone that is detail oriented, proactive, a team player, with a strong work ethic. Property Accountants that want to learn commercial (shopping center) property management are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Property accounting to include:
1. Accounts payable processing
2. Accounts receivable processing
3. Bank reconciliations
4. Variance reports
• Prepare tenant NNN reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger through month end closing
• Preparation of monthly financial reports
• Compile and prepare various reports for executive use, as needed  
• Work with tenants direct on expense reconciliation
• Property budget preparation
• Knowledge of construction draws a plus
• Assist Asset Manager with vendor contracts, property maintenance and 5-year capital improvement and maintenance plan

Qualifications

• College degree required
• Retail accounting software experience required
• Bookkeeping skills required
• Computer literate in Windows, MS Office including Word, Excel (need to know how to work with formulas), PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Able to prioritize workload, multitask and support multiple team members.
• Knowledge of general business and corporate procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential

Position is full time and in the office; however, applicant can telecommute up to two days per week.
